As a former employee of Bethany Church in their communications department, I took the initiative to create concepts for a new website. The church was going through a rebrand at the time and the existing website had limited information and poor navigation. It was also built in Cold Fusion (an outdated architecture) and utilized Flash which does not render on certain OS.
The main goal behind the redesign was to fix the wayfinding so users are able to easily access information about church ministries, sermon series, events and find ways to connect– drawing outsiders in.
The visual idea behind these concepts was to convey a church that is personal and welcoming. The first concept has a more traditional look/feel (neutral toward all generations), whereas the second concept has a "young/hip" vibe (to target millenials).
